And when your 'wish-list' starts, if you're interested in a pair of Carbon Termi slip-on's just PM me. I've returned my 620 back to original so I no longer require the ones I bought when i began my mods. If you're weary of the (glorious) noise, I've fitted them with (removable) Db killers, should your circumstances provide...

The bike has Sil (?) exhausts which I confess to not having heard of but I gather they are decent enough? Certainly sounded great anyway

The bike has Silmoto pipes on it. Alloy I think. Sounds very nice!

Picked the bike up today

Absolutely thrilled with it. I was a bit apprehensive as a) I hadn't ridden since passing my test b) I'd not test-ridden this or any Monster and c) I had only ever ridden Jap IL4s. I was worried I would find it underwhelming or difficult to ride or something.

Needn't have worried

. Immediately felt at home on it, loved the riding position (the bars are raised a bit, might not keep) and particularly loved the "nimbleness" if you know what I mean. Oh, and the sound

Strangely my overriding first impression was that it felt EXACTLY like I thought it would. In a good way. It seems a strange thing to say given that, as I've mentioned, I'd never ridden it or anything like it. I suppose the best way to sum it up is that it simply felt "right".

Overall very happy boy! If I can work out how to post a pic or two I shall.

Don't worry, no one can at first. The forum pic utility doesn't work so use www.postimage.org It will resize them for you as well. It's very simple and intuitive. Just upload the photo you want then copy the 'direct link'. Come back back here click the little yellow square ->

above the text box and paste the link in the box. Job done

Couple of quick questions if I may:

1) what fuel should I put in? Is it best to use the higher octane stuff?

2) should I be able to go through the gearbox without using the clutch?

1. I personally will put in better fuel every third fill up.

2. If you get the rev's right you can click it up and down without the lever.

Hello all.

Thought I'd revisit this thread as a bit of an update and also a request for help (might need to post in the electrics section but will see how I go).

So I'm almost 3 years into ownership now and I still love the Monster as much as the day I got it. It's on almost 31k miles now and going strong. Using it more than I thought as a change of job location has meant I now commute on it when the weather is half-decent. Not changed anything apart from removing the fly screen and I've recently wrapped the exhaust. It's just had a full service, new belts and a new rear tyre so is in great fettle.
