Luddite, is your stand just for the Evo or is it a more general fit? I am hoping to pick up a paddock stand second hand. I bought an Abba stand when I got the monster, but it is a bit of a pain for regular use, so looking for something more user friendly. The fact that yours will lock the wheel is a bonus.

Yep Luddite if it fits an S2R/S4R it's also good for a 748/916, probably quite a few others too.
Critical part is the diameter of the hole in the spindle, smaller than the extension on the stand might involve the use of a big big hammer to make it fit An after thought.. the bar that fits the spindle is swap-able ??

Unfortunately it's not removable. And I should have said in my earlier post, it's no longer available new so, if you wanted one, you'd have to track down a used example.
Alternatively, it shouldn't be too difficult to adapt a regular stand by welding a suitable tube to its frame and sourcing your own bar for locking the spokes (an old rubber handlebar grip on the end of the bar would make a good protector.) |

Thanks Luddite, that increases my chances of a second hand buy.

If it helps in your search, Omar, here are the measurements:
The overall spindle length is 95mm and the first 25mm next to the stand has a 26mm diameter and the remaining 70 mm is 22mm diameter. If you want to add your own tube/rod, the measurements are: Welded tube - 75mm x OD 32mm/ID 26mm (wall thickness 3mm including paint) Locking tube - 210mm x OD 25mm/ID 21mm (wall thickness 1.9mm) Hope that helps. |

As an interested observer, why does the nut need to be so insanely tight?
Also my experience of using an Abba stand is very positive . It's easy to use once you get the hang of it.

On balance, I think I’d want one tightened to manufacturer’s specifications!

What you’re after is axial tension in the spindle and to achieve that you have to overcome the friction of the threads, humongous thread diameter = insane torque setting. |

Pin diameter is bigger on Diaval and 1200 Monsters - also the new Multistradas. All use the “big” axle
