Resist, Resist!
I bought a pair of Panigale LED rear indicators to fit on the Monster. They are smaller than the standard ones & I thought they would fit better with the pillion grab rails (which they do). I understood that they were 'plug & play' and either were fitted with integral resistors or had inline ones fitted.
WRONG! they flash too quickly so I guess I will have to fit some resistors. I would like some inline ones which utilise the existing connectors as I don't really want to chop the wiring. So, is this the way to go & if so, anyone know of a supplier? Thanks |

Desmoworld have a good selection.
Full details and links in your earlier thread: http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/s...ad.php?t=55912 By the way, did you try the indicators with the engine running? My LEDs flash double speed until the engine is actually running. |

You could always just get an uprated LED flasher unit?

If I remember my 1100 needed two resistors to the rizoma. My scrambler however using same rizoma indicators needed none I got them from moorespeed to fit Ducati terminals

BRD I've got panigale indicators on my 1100s and all I did was purchase a pair of resistors from Chris (your room mate at the weekender) and bingo all works perfect.

Thank you so much for your kind offer. Unless they are now different, the Rizoma resistors are small, gold, rectangular jobbies which require soldering. I would really like ones which simply plug in to the existing wiring for simplicity.

They might not be Rizoma, I can't remember now, but pretty sure they are.

Thanks Luddite & Buzzbomb. My German is non-existent. Do I need 2 x option 1 or 2 x option 2?

Option 1 (Rundstecker) is with connector. Option 2 Is open ended with a bit of heatshrink tubing. Take a look at the other pictures to check the connector suits what you have. |

However, you said you've fitted OE Panigale indicators so I presume they come with the standard Ducati black, square connector? If that's the case, then neither of the two Desmoworld options will be 'plug-and-play'. What I suggest you do is get a pair of the option 1 resistors with a set of these €2 male bullet connectors: https://www.desmoworld.com/stecker-fuer-blinker-1622 You can then cut the OE connector off the Panigale indicators and replace it with the bullets, which will then allow you to plug them into the resistors. Alternatively, if you're feeling more ambitious, you could get a set of option 2 resistors (with the bare wires) and attach a genuine Ducati-style connector from here: http://kojaycat.co.uk/epages/9500004...-BLK-INDI-CONN However, they're more expensive, harder to attach and not really necessary as even the Ducati Performance kit uses the bullet connectors and has never caused me any problems over the past five years. |
