2010, '12 and '14 were my years attending - much helped by Geoff's bookings and such (y)

I haven't been there since. Often too warm. Same program every year. Very entertaining event for me as a novice Ducatist, but less spectacular the third time. Of course, the 20 min track session still attracts and some of the known places in the area would be nice to revisit. 2026 could be a good year to do it again.

Every year I've been touring the Alps, Dolomites and three/four days in the hills between Bologna and Firenze. Spectacular riding and more genuine "Italiano" than Misano/Rimini. I'll keep on doing that. Maybe even a detour to Roma and/or Sicilia.

My impression is that that the hit Europe has taken in recent years have hurt bike sales, travel and the general interest/willingness/capability to ride/go touring. During my visit in 2020 (no surprise of course) I was more or less alone in the mountains. To compensate, maybe the WDW has become more local? They have moved it closer to the typical Italian vacation month - probably to facilitate Italian visits.

What do you think? Already booked/can't wait/hope to/no way/what is WDW? How will you travel? When? Why?

Attended the first WDW 1998 Mrs WAH on pillion, 1992 900ss, the ride down was monsoon like the rest was ok, ticked all the boxes, Mrs WAH got a squeeze off Frankie Chili, and the bike performed brilliantly, wouldn't go again, events are rarely better 2nd time around in my experience. TBH it feels way too corporate now for my taste.

Sounds amazing, any discount codes for monster owners club? Currently in Italy and visited Alfa Romeo museum yesterday. Not yet made the trip on a motorbike but could be tempted to ride to this event.

The small amount, a couple tenners, you could save on the ticket isn't worth the work for you or the admins of this club. Yes, the discounted ticket buying system actually is a hassle, for you too. Focus on the enjoyment is my advice.

WDW is spectacular and not boring. At all. Some like it hot, so if you're not too bothered by 35-40 degrees Celsius - go! If the Italian lack of organizing talent is just charming to you - go! As mentioned by WAH the whole thing is quite "corporate". The area isn't very typically Italian, so I recommend doing Toscana, Dolomites and/or Alps on the way to and/or from.
