• PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WHEN ATTENDING A MONSTER MEET/RIDEOUT

    1. All riders ride at their OWN risk.
    2. The UKMOC will not be held liable for any accidents to riders/passengers/motorcycles whatsoever.
    3. You are deemed to be in control of your own motor cycle at all times
    4. Please let the ride leader know, if you are intending to 'peel off' en-route.

    ADVICE FOR THOSE LEADING RIDEOUTS

    1. Make yourself known to all persons who intend to rideout with you.
    2. We recommend the 'Drop-Off' system for group rides.
    3. Find out if everyone has ridden in a group before - if not explain any relevant info.
    4. Ensure all have enough fuel - and locate nearest garages to the meet point.
    5. Ask everybody to ride slightly 'off-set' - eg - do not directly follow the bike in front WHERE POSSIBLE. (this leaves extra braking room).
    6. HAVE FUN!

There is an open day at the SHQ (Station HQ.) at former RAF West Raynham on Sunday 20th July.
Starts at 1pm till 4pm.
I have a lovely poster on pdf which unfortunately I can't post here, so I've copied and pasted the text below.

There are already a few I know going on bikes including myself and we could form a display if we get enough.
Since it starts at 1pm it gives scope for a meet up beforehand for some lunch. Not sure where yet? Both the Fakenham garden centre café and Wittles in Castle Acre could well be quite busy at that time and they won't take bookings!
I'll have a rummage around and see if I can find somewhere suitable if anyone is up for it?

Military-themed activities:
o
RAF Lancaster flypast
o
Hunter aircraft with ‘fighter dispersal’ set-up and open cockpit; Canberra PR.9 open cockpit
o
Other aircraft cockpits and displays; Military vehicles and Reenactors; Military Memorabilia stalls
o
Displays including: Royal Observer Corps, Ejection Seats, Jet engines, aircraft and ground armament, air reconnaissance, and more, Wargames display, and more…
o

Uh oh! Faux pas.
Sorry it starts at 10am. Not 1pm.
That kind of knocks the lunch meet idea on the head, best to spend a few pence on grub at the gig, they're trying to raise money after all.

Sunday 20th July
1000 to 1600
West Raynham NR21 7PL

Rob has kindly converted the pdf poster to jpeg, so I can now post it and take the opportunity to give this a bump.

I'll see you there. 👩‍🚀

Not sure if we'll see the Lancaster? One of the engines conked out earlier this week.

Its RIAT at Fairford this week end , just staying in my house so far I have seen a B2 batwing , a B1B lancer, U2, Bearcat, P51 mustang F15, Gripon, Embraer C390 transport ,,C19, 2 aerobatics teams , Red arrows , 2 Apaches , 3 chinooks , 2 F35s , a Typhoon ,, Rafale and some other planes I cant ID ....

Just had the battle of Blighty flight over my house Lancaster , Spitfire and Hurricane ,, earlier was another display team not sure who, a big Awacs plane , an F18 ,,,and a V22 tiltrotor thingy

I put in a quick cameo on the Tiger to this and left early to try and miss the approaching rain.
It was all too busy, with too many general punters, children, dogs and non aviation type stalls. Not like the more intimate events they have there with talks and displays that mean something. Hey ho they have to get money in somehow.

I spoke to the Tornado/Dakota/Lancaster pilot that we met at our VIP BBMF outing. he wasn't flying it today but knew about the engine shutdown.
He wasn't sure what caused the smoke, but said he'd heard it was an easy fix. I've no idea if the Lanc did it's flypast or not, the weather was not ideal.

I only caught a few spots when I got nearer home and then the rain got heavier. I left the Triumph out as it needed a rinse anyway, but forgot the iron discs! They're nice and brown now.. Doh! 🤪
