• PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WHEN ATTENDING A MONSTER MEET/RIDEOUT

    1. All riders ride at their OWN risk.
    2. The UKMOC will not be held liable for any accidents to riders/passengers/motorcycles whatsoever.
    3. You are deemed to be in control of your own motor cycle at all times
    4. Please let the ride leader know, if you are intending to 'peel off' en-route.

    ADVICE FOR THOSE LEADING RIDEOUTS

    1. Make yourself known to all persons who intend to rideout with you.
    2. We recommend the 'Drop-Off' system for group rides.
    3. Find out if everyone has ridden in a group before - if not explain any relevant info.
    4. Ensure all have enough fuel - and locate nearest garages to the meet point.
    5. Ask everybody to ride slightly 'off-set' - eg - do not directly follow the bike in front WHERE POSSIBLE. (this leaves extra braking room).
    6. HAVE FUN!

This Month we are returning to The Grumpy Goat in sleepy Bardwell. It's a nice predictable place with good food and coffee.

Sunday Sept 13th, 10.30am, The Grumpy Goat, Bardwell. IP31 1AB.

Hope to see you there for more frivolity and madness.. :p

Not directly related but the museum and cafe at Parham Airbase Museum is worth a visit. Called in when I was in Essex visiting the 'rents.

2 coffee's and cakes for £6 🫡

Was a B17 base in the war and has lots of great artifacts connected with the planes / crew to look at along with a restored control tower you can go in.

STOP PRESS.

We've called tomorrows meeting off and are now meeting next Sunday.

So Sunday 20th, 10.30am The Good The Bad and The Hungry, Wingfield IP21 5RB

Well, my faithful Motobatt of 13 years may be coming to the end of it's life! Trouble with the Monster being demoted to a weekend bike and really only coming out to play about once a month is that it doesn't get charged up!
And so it was this morning that I found myself puffing and groaning, pushing it back up the hill to home after several failed bump starts!
She soon responded to the current from my battery charger and we were on our way, just a little late!

The day got better from there on and I had a lovely ride to our meet at The Good The Bad and The Hungry.
Glad that we postponed the meet by a week and fell on our feet with some lovely weather, unlike last Sunday's moist offering!

I guess 20 minutes late is better than not turning up at all and the boys were in fine spirits when I finally got there and had elected to dine outside in the wind and Sun.
Food here is always very good and the coffee likewise, with the staff always good humoured and obliging, as well as being good looking.
Going round our table clockwise we had DaveR, Steve, myself, Roger and Dacs.
With our three other regulars otherwise detained today it left the Triumph (Clunkers) count down to just Rogers Speed Twin with an otherwise all red turnout from the Ducati contingent.
Among various cosmic subjects considered and debated was the renewed interest in Clunkers T-shirts, having found a possible victim to pick up the design where I got stumped and left off!

October's meet somehow didn't get discussed, but It will fall on Oct 11th. I guess we may as well have another shot at The Grumpy Goat?

Remembered to take my camera today and even took a spare, but still my skills show to be sadly lacking.... I took better pictures when I was 8 years old with my mum's old box brownie!
