Hi everyone, been a while since my last visit here.....used to meet up with the guys from the North West, I'm an S2R owner from the wirral.
Some of you may remember me (or not!).
Had a few good ride outs in the past, Lake District, Southern 300, Wild Atlantic Way to name a few.
Unfortunately I'm thinking of letting my beloved Gina go so if anyone is in the market for a Red S2R please feel free.........if not, feel free to say 'Hi' anyway!

Thread 'Hello from the north east'

Hi all, hope you’re all well and enjoying the lovely weather.
I’m based near Durham and currently Ducati-less, although I hope to rectify that soon.
I’ve a 2006 Moto Guzzi Griso 1100, that is a fabulous bike but, as I’m no longer in the first flush of youth, it’s getting a bit heavy for me manoeuvring out of the garage.
Back in the day I had a M600 that was an amazing little bike and although I felt a bit more power wouldn’t come in wrong, it did pretty much everything I wanted. In fact I only sold it due to getting divorced.
So now I’m thinking a Monster will be lighter and easier to...
 
Hello Colin. Of course I remember you. I always think of you as being "chuffed to bits" after you posed in front of the steam train for me.

I'm curious as to what you mean when you say "used to meet up with the North-West section."
Did you just stop going or have they disbanded?
I know that Moco left the club in an almighty huff, but as far as I know he was still going to keep the NW section going even though no-one has posted any reports since 2021.
I've not been in touch since then nor heard from them. Shame, as they were a very active group with some interesting bikes between them.
 
Moco and his mates were planning a South Scotland trip and I proposed meeting up and sharing some routes/runs, then SOMETHING happened and we never heard from him again….was it something to do with a Weekender….?
 
We did actually do a very wet south Scotland trip couple of yrs ago, Moco, Adie, Myself and one other, is that what you are referring to?
Unfortunately after the Wild Atlantic Way trip we all kinda drifted apart...

Good to hear from you!
I haven't had any contact from anyone up this way more or less since the WAW trip....
Which is a great shame as we seemed to have a nice group.
If anyone knows if there is an active 'Northern ' group please let me know!
May have to sort a new one perhaps...
 
It was probably about then. Unfortunately it can be a bit damp up here from time to time….🙄

A bit damp??? Understatement of the year!! Thoroughly enjoyable few days though apart from Gina refusing to start on the 2nd or third day. Had to fetch her back with the RAC....
