I’ve been working with Ben to 3D print an obsolete relay holder for Mk1 Monsters

We’ve come up with a part that fits

However, Ben’s project is ongoing, is there another carbie owner out there who’d be willing to put some miles on one, if I print another and send it to you?
Fitting is one thing but it also has to survive vibration on the bike.
Please reply on here or by PM.

From fitting it and wiggling it about it seems up to the job but like you say some road miles will certainly ensure that its gripping the relay securely enough.

Still amazing that stuff like this can be made from a printer :)

Yes, although I’m a little disappointed at 140 views in 48 hours and no takers for a free spare part I guess we’ll have to wait for your project to finish (or reach the road, we all know:almost no project ever really finishes)

I would've offered to do the testing but my bike is the later model and has a different arrangement where a larger rubber mounting holds three relays (this "general" one plus one each for flasher and sidestand).
The later type holder also seems to have a short lifespan .. I'm on my second after the first one split.
The replacement was fitted a good few years ago and is probably also on the way out by now.

Full marks for getting this one printed anyway.

^^^^ Superglue works really well with repairing "rubber/neoprene/viton" components

I'm currently fitting the wiring loom, ignition and carbs to the bike but none of them directly fit together so I may be a while.

Next will be wheels, tyres and if I can afford it paint but so far no one who has responded to requests for paint has ever ended up actually getting back to me.

Can you clarify what you are or were expecting?
Recommendations on types/makes?
colour codes?

Sorry meant to add that I wasn't talking about UKMOC just people / businesses in general.

Currently I need my top yoke, risers, footrests and both engine side casings coating or cerakoting. I also need my wheels painting and tyres fitting then lastly the body work all painting one colour.

As cash might not allow the last job this year I may just run the tank and mudguard mismatched until I can afford the whole lot to be redone. Local painters quoted circa £850 for tank, mudguard, bikini fairing, seat cover and carbon panels to be re-coated.
