• PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WHEN ATTENDING A MONSTER MEET/RIDEOUT

    1. All riders ride at their OWN risk.
    2. The UKMOC will not be held liable for any accidents to riders/passengers/motorcycles whatsoever.
    3. You are deemed to be in control of your own motor cycle at all times
    4. Please let the ride leader know, if you are intending to 'peel off' en-route.

    ADVICE FOR THOSE LEADING RIDEOUTS

    1. Make yourself known to all persons who intend to rideout with you.
    2. We recommend the 'Drop-Off' system for group rides.
    3. Find out if everyone has ridden in a group before - if not explain any relevant info.
    4. Ensure all have enough fuel - and locate nearest garages to the meet point.
    5. Ask everybody to ride slightly 'off-set' - eg - do not directly follow the bike in front WHERE POSSIBLE. (this leaves extra braking room).
    6. HAVE FUN!

We've nudged this meet on a week from the traditional 2nd Sunday, so's to not clash with Remembrance Sunday.

Lets meet at 10.30am on the 16th November at The Grumpy Goat, Bardwell. IP31 1AB.

A quick nudge for this as I posted a bit earlier than usual.
Looking forward to this one. It looks like it might dry out for next Sunday and make a decent ride out, but I'll splash in anyway if it doesn't.

See you there.. Clonkers unite.. πŸ€ͺ

Not sure which weather forecast you're looking good out, still says nothing but drizzle on the one I'm looking at. That said they got today's completely wrong, sunny all day 😎
Had a ride out to Bottisham airfield museum today, when I got there I was informed it was shut until Easter next year......so much for google.
I'll see you Sunday.

Dave

The forecast was good when I looked on Monday before posting.
It's turned rather less clement since, but today it's back to good prospects again.
Best forecast you can get is looking out of the window before you set off.

See you Sunday rain or shine.. 😁

A good turn out today. Manged to fill the table for 6 that I booked.
It was a much nicer day than expected with no rain and tolerable temperatures. The roads were damp of course, with the occasional very large puddle here and there, but much drier on the way home.

I had a titanic struggle to not get extremely cross on the ride down, finding the A47 blocked for a good 5 miles of trying to cross it at various points.
I did eventually find a way over via a bridge that has been inaccessible for many weeks, the rest of the journey was much less stressful once that hurdle was jumped!
Even so I was late having set off at 8.50 for a 40 minute trip!!

No Monsters at this meet, so it was officially the first Clunker's Splinter Group meeting.. :ROFLMAO:
Personally I like the diversity. At least DaveR was on a Ducati, his 750SS, then we had Dacs on Honda, Unkleduke on Triumph, Gordon on his Triumph and Martyn on his Beeza A10, I think it was the first time I've seen that one. I had another nice ride on my Guzzi, I much prefer it to my Monster now.

Food and service was excellent again with the girls coping in good humour with an unprecedented influx of customers.
There was a birthday party going on, then we were joined by a VMCC meeting and a rugby match kicked off!
The car park was very full of motorbikes of all different interesting sorts. I recall a Velocette, an immaculate Scott, Nortons, 60's and 70's Triumphs, most of which were interestingly modified. There were a couple of Harleys, but proper original Sportsters clearly used for every day and all weather use by ordinary motorcyclist types. Apparently the VMCC ban sat-navs and nearly all the bikes featured a modern take on the "roll-a-route" map system. All were rolled round to the last page with diagrams of all the junctions leading to The Grumpy Goat. Must have been carefully worked out , printed and distributed to all the riders by some very dedicated soul.
Seriously considering jumping ship as I have a couple of qualifying bikes and knew one or two of the riders, and those I didn't were very friendly.

Great meeting with the usual banter and fun, which was difficult to hear at times with the building so full of people busy catching up.
I rode home behind Martyn for most of the way home, listening to the rasp of his Beeza. Roads much drier by this time and I think a little less cold too. Arrived home very much refreshed and happy.. this is where it's at. Get on yer bike and have some fun.(y)

Uncle duke's and Gordon's Triumphs, older Triumph and BM nothing to do with us20251116_120646.webp
Norfolk's shortest sidestand, on Martyn's BSA - we can now only meet at venues that provide a wall. Or a Tree, or fence post. Also in this pic is the shiniest and possibly nicest bike in the car park, a Scott.

Thanks for posting those Dacs, you've obviously been down to the chemist to collect your prints.
I didn't have a film in my camera. :confused::sleep:

I like the length of the mirror stalk on the Scott. Getting on for decent side stand length.
Also note the roll-a-route on the Scott and BMW, both VMCC bikes.
