No fuel pump noise

Hi guys and gals, have a problem starting my 900sie.
I was riding then stopped and turned off the bike and it would not re start.
I have tried most things and am at a loss now.
It turns over the engine but the fuel pump is not wirring up.
I have put in new ignition and injection relays, new battery and checked all fuses.
There is 12v going to the injection relay but no voltage coming out of the relay to the pump and it sounds like the relay clicks in and then out again.
I'm hoping it's not the ECU.
Help!!!!!

Hi There,

I am having exactly the same problem with my S4R. I replaced the battery and since then she will not start. If I spray quick start into the airbox she will fire for a few seconds. When you turn on the ignition the clocks swing back and forth and there is a slight click from the fuel pump (I think) but that is all.

She is an 03 fuel injected model

Any ideas would be gratefully accepted.:spin:
 
Pull the top of the relay off and manualy close contacts(our bridge pins to relay 87 & 30)if it starts it is ever the switched side of the relay(ECU) or the gound/earth side.

Try this and let me know, if no better you need to look elsewhere.
 
Problem solved

I found the problem this morning, with the help of the wiring diagram from the back of the manual, a magnifying glass and some luck. The problem for me was the alarm. The battery had died while it was in service mode (I think) and I then replaced the battery. For some reason the alarm has refused to allow power to the fuel pump. It was spliced in at installation just below the join under the tank. I removed the wire from the alarm and soldered the wires back as ducati intended and low and behold the lovely sound of fuel pumping :-)

Hello, similar problem. My 900Sie (2000) has twice broken down and wouldn't restart after a ride out. The first time a battery replacement by my local mechanic seemed to sort it. The second time, on getting the bike delivered home, I realised the fuel pump wasn't making its usual 'buzz' before start up. I looked for a fuel pump relay but as yet have not found one, even though one is listed in the Ducati parts catalogue. Does anyone know if one is fitted and if so where on earth it is positioned? I have attached photos of the existing relays for indicators and starter. I have attached photos of the wiring from the petrol tank to the loom and the locations of where I would have thought the relay would be... I have checked the fuses and all okay. I wanted to check the relay before looking at the fuel pump.

Not familiar with that model but the black relay next to the regulator looks like the injection relay used on other models such as 916 etc.

The yellow relay is the main power relay and also worth checking as it has 2 outputs, one of which could be at fault whilst the other still works?
 
Thanks for the reply, I've checked and that one is marked as the indicator relay, the yellow one being the starter relay apparently

Easy enough to remove and check what doesn't work anymore though.
