Hi I'm ideally after some 749/999 type calipers to use as an upgrade.
Let me know what you have.
Thanks,guys.

I swapped over to those (1994 M900), have to say it's hard to tell the difference. Have thought about mixing the grades of pads, but as I only ride on the road and no longer like a crazy devil there wouldn't be much point.
Sorry I don't have a spare pair either.

Gazza had my P4 34's. Idk if he has noticed any improvement. I'm guessing they should be more progressive with 4 pads per caliper and maybe a tad more powerful with 34mm pistons?

Yes I did have your callipers Darren and I keep meaning to report on them.
They were a simple direct swap for the original 65mm Goldline callipers on my Y2000 M900Sie although I did need different brake lines. I also fitted new discs at the same time, as the old Arashi ones were too thin after about 30000 miles of all weather service, but still not warped like the original Brembos were at 20000 miles.
The original 16mm Goldline master and lever works fine.

After using nothing but EBC organic pads in everything for over 30 years I decided to try a set of EBC HH sintered, front and rear (10 pads!)
My 2020 bike came with HH pads and I liked them, hence the switch.
I've covered about 1500 miles with the new brakes now and I would say they are better than the 2020 bike with radials and ABS, but only 2 pads per caliper. (J-Juan, Mexican made Brembo.)

I like the new brakes a lot, they are the most powerful I think I have ever used on a bike and have a nice controllable feel despite the HH pads, but it has to be said that sintered pads have come on a bit since the '90's.
I had cause to use them hard and urgently a couple of times, a week or so ago and they no doubt avoided two opportunities for life changing injuries.
So I reckon it's a very worthwhile upgrade.

The callipers are a bit heavier than Goldlines and the pads are more expensive. I did manage to claw back the weight gain by swapping even more nuts and bolts for Titanium.

But if this is being planned for an 1100S, surely they are Radial callipers on those?
An' anover fing. I'm pretty sure that you might find the same callipers fitted to some Aprillias whether you're looking for radials or axials.

Good to know they work ok Gazza. Will be radials on the 1100S but not sure if they are the 4 pad versions or not? My S4R has the 4 pads from the 1098 but a the later Monsters and others had the 2 pad versions which look similar but are not the same thing by far.
