Hi Everyone
Just recently bought a 2023 937 SP and the rear was very soft i checked in the owners book and it said there should be 21mm of thread showing at the bottom of the shock, i measured mine and it was 9mm. I adjusted it two complete turns and got approx 12mm of thread showing went for a ride and it was better but still a bit bouncy. I then checked the static sag and only got 4mm which is not very much normally look for approx 10mm. Adjusted it two more full turns too try and it was then way too hard and very stiff so have backed it off those two turns and am riding it like that. It handles nicely but am concerned that it does not show 21mm of thread and only has 4mm of static sag. Can anyone who has an SP let me know how much thread is showing on theirs and maybe what sag they have. Cheers

Ohlins always were always stupidly undersprung, forcing you to buy a new spring if you're not skin and bones.

The amount of tread showing on the shock is a load of old nonsense, just ignore it.
It might be a starting point, but from what you have said it would eliminate all sag completely and probably take away a good deal of travel.
The sag depends on the spring rate, machine weight, rider weight and any passenger or luggage.

Set the static sag to where you want it and compare that to the dynamic sag. If you can't get those two figures within range then it will probably need another spring or settling for the best compromise.

A little more research and i have found the 21mm figure is a typo it should be 9mm, i set it to a little more and got approx 10mm static sag which is good and 35mm dynamic sag which again i am happy with and is much better ride now and handles like a dream. So as you said a good starting point thanks for your advice.
