Hello from Aberdeen!

Hello All,

Name is Stephen, proud owner(-ish) of a M1100evo. I say ish as it gets delivered next week.

Live up in Aberdeen and as you can imagine, its cold. Looking forward to getting out and about on it as soon as possible!

Looking forward to getting to know my new bike more and learn from the knowledge on here as well as share some of my experiences (and pitfalls) along the way!

Cheers

Stephen

So you can bypass Aberdeem alltogether now? hello and welcome btw. I;m not anti Aberdeen or Scotland. I holidayed there many years ago and it was nice but the licensing laws sucked. Has that been sorted now?

Cheers all.

By pass has yet to finish. They're blaming it on the carillion collapse of course. Can't wait for it to finish. Will be a boring road to ride but will free up all the good country and coastal roads around here I reckon.

Think the licencing laws have improved. Especially with the success of brewdog and the likes. You should make another visit. Roads up here are great. Especially heading West into the cairngorms mountain range.

And welcome from just up the road. Congrats on the bike choice, I'm sure you'll love it (biased of course). Looking out on another dreich day here, longing for the salt to go. Probably the only time of year I wish for buckets of rain..

Hi and welcome

I spent a few weekends at Stonehaven in the eighties, mostly in a pub near the waterfront, living on beer and orange cheese rolls (is the bread roll called something else? Was it bridie?) - great times!

Isn't it a little premature to be wishing the salt to be washed away from the roads since its only January and you are in Aberdeen Scotland... Anyhow enjoy the bike!

Me and the Mrs went to Ullapool a couple of years ago (unfortunately by car, although it was an Alfa!) The road from Inverness was fun, but it's the roads along the coast around and North of Ullapool which were impressive. The area is stunning.

Yes that's a nice road. If you're up that way the Bealach Na Ba (Cattle pass) from Inverness to Applecross is an absolute must! Heck you might as well just do the whole North Coast 500! Some say that route is a victim of its own success as it does get quite busy. Can't say it would ever deter me doing it again though.
