Hello from an M900 owner!

Hello everyone, a quick hello having recently become a 1997 M900 owner.
The bike has very low mileage in fact I think another forum member was recently contemplating purchasing the same machine prior to me buying it!

After passing my test a couple of years ago my first bike was a 1997 600SS which I still have and still love, subsequently my 50th birthday pressie was a 1983 BMW R100 (I've always had a thing for them as well) which I travelled to the South of France on - what an experience!

The M900 is an awesome bike to ride and I like the fact that having become familiar with the 600SS workings it's isn't too different to work on / maintain.

The tank had been painted at some point for some reason but not re-laquered, anyhow, I had a plan to put a sripe down the centre of the bike along with new transfers (which I've now done), not exactly original but not too far away from standard.
Oh, and I put a couple of pipes on it

All the best everyone, nice to be here!

Gino, a big welcome to the club. Clearly a Monster fan and looks like you've picked up a nice 900 for your troubles.
If you need any help or advice the forum will definitely help you out.

Welcome along but I think you may have blown your beans (so to speak) too early in Monster ownership by going straight in for the best- an air cooled 900 !!!

Now we need some proper photos please!!!

OOps sorry mate... Yes quite a ride!

I wrongly assumed it was Bury St Edmunds. So named as that is where they buried St Edmund, King of Anglia.
Local folk lore says that he was killed in battle at Hellesdon (just up the road from me).
So named because "Hell was done".

Not too bad on local history, but clearly need to brush up on national geography..
