Hi Mike, and welcome.

There are quite a few of us about in the Southampton - Salisbury direction.

Keep an eye out for the Hants and Wilties area notices.

The usual meet is third Sunday of the month, often at the Haven (Formerly Hilltop) cafe on the A20 east of Salisbury.

Look forwards to meeting you and seeing the bike.

There's nowt wrong with the 600: it's air cooled, it handles like a Monster and should have enough torque to make the ride enjoyable.

Just so long as it's red.

I'll second that.
Even as a biker for over 40yrs, I still require no more than my 750 monster (a lifetime keeper).
Go and watch the "girlies" racing in the Desmodue (600) series if you can.

And welcome.
I guess the "engines, clutch, gears" sub-section of the "technical" section is the place to post your questions, but don't worry about such formalities too much.
Ask away, there are lots of helpful folk here.

Welcome to the club.
There's an enormous amount of knowledge on the furum so if you can't find what you're after just stick a post up on the Randon Chat section and we'll try and help.

Now't wrong with any monster of any capacity. Welcome along and pitch a comment in the random chat or technical sections and you may even find something of relevance. Or use the search box.

Hi Mike.
Good luck with the new bike.
I'm local to you but a novice with the spanners - I'm quite happy to get it wrong on my bike but not someone else's! The guys on this forum are helpful and knowledgable so ask away.
MotoRapido in Winchester are fantastic also.
Cheers, Richard.
