Imported Bike Insurance
Hi, what's the score on insuring an Imported Bike? Does the premium go up (guessing it will). Is it specialist companies only?
Oh and can a Ducati M series speedo be converted from KPH to MPH, don't like the little stickers.... Cheers |

Swap out to a UK clock OR get one of those intermediate mini gearboxes that change the K's to M's.
On premiums ... it depends on company and bike so hard to predict.

I'm not 100% but I think once it's registered in UK it doesn't matter unless they ask. I don't remember it on my bike proposal but I can remember being asked about cars.

All imports but...
I can't see it making any difference, unless the bike in question is one that was not sold here or was sold but the imported version is significantly different.
As long as it's UK registered and legal etc. then I wouldn't even mention it to the insurers. As for the speedo, ebay/bike breakers is the best way to get an MPH version.

km speedo is no real issue
its very easy to convert from one to the other 30mph = 50km 50mph = 80km 60 mph = 100km 75 mph = 120km 100 mph = 160km 120 mph = 200km its not rocket science |
