Rebuilt M750 Cafe Racer

Gents thanks for the help with the fueling issue. I've added picture of the finished bike though i have a catalogue of picture since it arriving as a accident damaged scrapper should anyone be interested.

Yes it is quite shouty. Not to loud though, there is baffles in the forward facing exhausts. Only small ones though

You both a liking it to that stunning machine is a compliment in its self.

Loving the belt covers and the exhausts.

Over the winter I intend on another strip down to powder coat the parts i painted Black (swing arm,rear sets) and redo the engine after a Fuel line split and stripped some paint off. I have already repainted but it was in the frame and its not up to the required standard. Id also like a set of spoked wheels if anyone knows of a supplier ?

Spoked wheels are around £1600. I want a pair too but just can't justify the cost atm or ever. If you want to upgrade the wheels then the later 5 spokes are a nice option and very nice. Rizoma belt covers are just a myth, never seen any come up for sale. The exhaust is Road Racing again I believe kinda mythical. Quat D do a similar system but its heavy and ugly and way expensive. You'd be better off sourcing a Termi type spaghetti system if you want to get more power with just an exhaust change. Ducatis need a proper exhaust system in order to work properly. Those on yours aren't doing any real favours to engine performance except being loud.

The Smeegal swinging arm was also a kit for the Monster but I forget the name of the company, it wasn't the same as the 916 one but specific for Monsters, fittting a regular 916 arm to a Monster would probably not be the best combination for handling as it was designed for the 916.

I’ve not spoken to Jen for some time- last time she was travelling the world on two wheels after recovering from her Dakar injuries.

I am pretty sure the belt covers were made by someone in this very club but can’t remember who I’m afraid- it was about fifteen years ago.

The exhaust however I do remember because we spent a week hooning round Wales before riding to Bradford where a company called ‘Zorstec’ worked their magic. Although of similar design to Road Racing it was actually much nicer looking without the ground clearance issues. as it was made of stainless pipe work rather than being pressed and welded with ugly seams of the RR system. It was a bit loud though!

I had assumed the belt covers on Smeegal were Rizoma ones but they look kinda similar, even so you probably won't see any around.

I think your engine covers would definitely benefit from blasting and powder coating. That's probably a job for over winter.

Warning: thread hijack. You must be referring to Jenny Morgan , who I have met a couple of times trail riding in the Pyrenees. I had no idea she was into Ducatis. Jenny is the best offroad rider I have ever seen.

Yes the very same and while on the subject of hijacking threads this was Sméagol before it was ‘the ghost of Sméagol past’ - in fact even before it had the single sided swing arm conversation but taken somewhere in Wales 2003 before heading to get the exhaust made.



We blatted around the green lanes of Sussex for a while, her on a Honda XR400 and me on the DR-Z until most of the lanes got closed to vehicular traffic.



I spent most of my time picking it up out of the mud before she took things more seriously doing the Heroes Legends, which was the original Paris Dakar route and they still allowed the ‘big bikes’
