About time I introduced myself

Hi All,

Well I've been on here for a few months now and I thought I'd best introduce myself.
My name is Andy and I have been into Duc's for about 11 years and still have my first one, a 1993 888 strada. Now my wife is riding, between us we have 4. My 888, her 900ss and 2 600 monsters. The 900 will be sold soon and I want to change my m600 for a 900. I now find myself riding the monster more than the 888 as its just so much damn fun, just needs more power.
I've always loved the monster and nearly bought one before I was offered the 888. But now we have 2, and they were both bargains. The wifes 1998 600 dark was £900 and my 1994 600 was £500 with 10 months T&T.

Is that Swaffham in Norfolk if so I'm sure our lovely Norfolk Rep Nonnie will be along later to say hi and get you out with the rest of the East Anglian lot. Always welcome a few more on the rideouts.

Hello M ultiple Monsters!

That's some price for bikes that work. There are no rideouts planned right now because I'll be going away soon but please feel free to post up if you or your wife fancy a spin out somewhere. I daresay you'll be joined by a few. Saying that, I am free Saturday morning and Saturday is meant to be quite a nice day.....

Or maybe lucky enough to just be getting in then or perhaps he has small children in which case 2.30am is quite normal.

Another 888/monster owner here - welcome mate !

We are considering adding a 888 section on the forum (well..the monster chassis was born out of the 888 ;>) ) - watch this space !

The HM is not a monster by design but it definatly is a Monster by ride style. Hear that naughtybike growl. Popped me my first propper having a go at it wheeley the other day (rather than just the front end coming up as I overtake something) I grinned all the way home and have got to get some more practice in.

Hi All,

Many thanks for the warm welcome, and looking forward to some ride outs.
As many of you noticed the time I wrote my introduction, I was just finishing work. I finish at 2:30 when I’m on nights, and as there is no management on nights its the perfect time for lounging on the internet.
Yes I am in the Norfolk version of Swaffham not the Cambs version. We've been up here for almost 9 years now but will be leaving soon for distant shores. Australia to be precise. Hopefully early next year. Going to take some of the bikes with us, not sure which though. They hold their price well over there, so definitely taking the 888.
Neil, yes we did meet outside 5 shed the other month and yes that was my yellow monster. That was the one I paid £500 for. Although it wasn’t a runner when I picked it up, I managed to get it running the evening I got it home. Just a small matter of tightening up the flywheel/alternator nut. Regarding the SS, I will unpack it from the shed and bring it in to work one day next week, depending on the weather of course.
And yes the Hypermootard is definitely a lot of a monster. I took one out for a test from Seastars, what a giggle. I was grinning for about 3 days afterwards. I think its one of those next!!

Im on a course next week at Halton, from Monday to Thursday. But will let my brother know to look out for it at the bike park that is infront of 4 hanger.

(He would also love an 888!)

Im after a cheap winter project now!
