Engine warning light

dear all,
The amber engine management light has come on , the manual doesn't give much information, has anyone any idea what it is and how to get it off

I would suggest the bike requires plugging into a diagnostic, at your dealer to check as to why the light has come on.
The dealer can also cancel the code and light for you.

this is the ECU management error light and can be a number of things such as failed or disconnected sensors as well as low level ECU issues

i think (but not in front of bike so not sure off hand) that this stay ons when the ignition is turned on and then turns off a few seconds after engine is started

worth checking a replugging all these see if it make a difference,
if bike has got very wet recently prob worth dousing the connectors with a bit of GT85 to repel any water thats got in there too

Air sensor behind headlight
engine temp sensor on top of horizontal head
lambda sensor in cat/exhuast mid pipe (this is olif your bike is later 2007 s2r800 or any s2r 1000)
fuel pump sensor under tank

possibly oil pressure sensor on right side of engine (although think this is just connected to oil light)

i suppose it wouldn't hurt to disconnect the battery and unplug/replug the ECU connectors and the clocks if you fell confident

not sure if there are any others off hand

if that still doesnt fix it you will need to take it to a ducati equipped mechanic so they can plug it in to the mathesis tester to read the actual error codes from the ecu to pin point the problem

If the bike is running well then it could be fantom codes being recorded in the ecu, if the battery is low or half charged or low voltage.
