CRMC Festival @ Donington.
I'm planning on popping to Donington on Sunday the 6th of August for the Classic Motorcycle Festival.
Is a cracking day out with a mix if racing, display laps and classic bikes on display. http://www.crmc.co.uk Any one else going? Who fancies a day out? My route is almost totally cross country from St Neots via Higham Ferriers, on to Oakham, Melton Mowbray then Donington.

Yep reckon so.
What time you aiming at getting there Grumps? I'll need a fuel stop in Oakham.. Could meet you there. BP garage and M+S just down "Land's End Way" (reminds me of something?) Or where I join the A606 off the A1.. There's a farm entrance just opposite the junction.

What sort of time would you be passing through Melton Mowbray?

I'm interested in all of these waypoint timings because, although I have a nice back route to Donington from my house, if the weather's nice and I'm up and ready early enough I might well ride out to meet you somewhere.

The petrol station at Oakham is probably the best place to meet, at about 9.30. Quote:
We could meet at Mced's? Pick your waypoint!

Okay Grumpy, I'll meet you at the Land's End BP at Oakham at 9.30.
Will message you before, to confirm. Hey guys check the difference between the online booking price and what you would have to pay on the gate..!!

I noticed the difference as well, £20 on the gate or £14.50 if you book in advance with an e ticket!

Because at the moment the weather's not looking great but I'm hopeful it'll clear for the morning? (if it rains when out that's one thing but I'm not keen on going out in the pouring rain). I'd be there for 10, assuming weather not stopping play. If you were going there anyway then no harm done if I don't make it. Will know more/post a reply in the morning.

I'd be sitting at the back, facing the corner, wearing a hat with a big 'D' on it...
