Weekender Saturday Options
Hi All,
Many apologies to everyone for the lack of information about the weekender Saturday activity. After a vast amount of work behind the scenes, and being let down (long story), we are offering two options. Saturday morning will have a mass ride out for everyone, ending up at a very nice pub about 20 miles from Arrow Mill (save yourself for the puddings!). For the afternoon, there will be a choice of three ride outs: 1. To the National Motorcycle Museum in Coventry 2. To Warwick Castle (lead by Alan C) 3. To further afield (route to be arranged) this will be a "brisk" ride, with hopefully a smaller group All rides will be planned to arrive back at the Mill late afternoon, in preparation for the Hog Roast. Mmmmm. To give us an idea of numbers, please vote which ride you would prefer. If everyone wants to go to the museum, then we'll just do that! Cheers everyone. Saz PS If you voted on the deleted thread, please vote again!!! I couldn't add the Castle option to the other poll __________________ |

Warwick castle looks a little too much like effort, and as much as I would just like to keep riding for the day I eel like I should do something to talk about to people when I get back! Museum it is...

Or how about...
27 miles from the mill.... Vhe Coventry Transport Museum (formerly known as the Museum of British Road Transport) is a major motor museum, located in Coventry City Centre, England. It houses the most extensive collection of British-made road transport in the world. It is located in Coventry because the city was previously the centre of the British car industry. There are more than 240 cars and commercial vehicles, 100 motorcycles, 200 bicycles. The most notable exhibits in the museum are Thrust2 and ThrustSSC, the British jet cars which broke the land speed record in 1983 and 1997 respectively. Royal cars - Queen Mary's and King George's State limo. Many "conventional" cars are in the collection, including an Austin Allegro, an Austin Metro (Minimetro) previously owned by Lady Diana Spencer, a Ford Escort MK2, Hillman Imp, Triumph Acclaim, Talbot Sunbeam, Talbot Horizon, Peugeot 206 Peugeot 405 and the De Lorean (DMC) car made famous by the Back to The Future films. The museum displays many Jaguars and other Coventry built cars such as the Triumph and Humber marques, an Alvis tank, and Coventry built buses. Hee hee - trust Joo to go all retro-classic on us... I wonder why?!
In fact we went to the National Motorcycle museum last year, and it really is very nice - if a little too overwhelming, with so many bikes there... Having been in the US for six (nearly seven) months now, I'm missing some proper history... so I'll vote for the castle, but am happy to go with whatever the majority plan is... xxx |

Joo Joo Joo, steady on!
If people want to do other things, that's fine. The 3 options listed are ones that will be organised with a nice ride to and from. How come I didn't go to the museum last year? I must have been somewhere else. Ah, think I was karting - that explains it! |
