Race/Track bike insurance
Does anyone have race/track bike insurance? I'm mostly talking theft from storage / potentially transport cover but less bothered about that.
Any recommendations? Thanks |

i found its really hard to get and very expensive
you can get laid up insurance fro bikes that dont go in the road but again it aint cheap, but you might find that its cheaper to tag the track bike onto your road policy which means getting it daylight MOT'd annually |

Yep, yep, yep.....
You need these lovely people....
http://www.4counties.co.uk/motorcycl...insurance.aspx http://www.4counties.co.uk/race-insurance.aspx ..they insure both race bikes (for ACU License holders) and track bikes along with transporters etc. etc. etc. in the U.K. and for overseas events. Not actually as bad as you might think, especially if you do a lot of track days, test days or race. Bex, even if you don't plan on racing, it might be worth looking into getting an ACU License (you can do it all in a day at Brands the same as Steeevooo and I did for around £150 all in) as then you could go along to open pit test days which work out way better value than track days generally. To give you an idea, before it all went to poop Mallory was only £60 a day open pit which means you can go out on track as you please throughout the day.

Spoke with 4counties the last couple of days to try and bottom out what they cover; transpires only 'classic' race bikes registered pre-1999.

Lemme know if you do find any where, I think I will insure the Triumph.
The SS is a '94 so it could go on 4 Counties, however it is in bits at the moment so probably not as appealing to the opportunist little 5hites

I didn't realise that- you could try dropping Charlotte and Alan (CK & AK) a message and see who they use for their bikes?

Try www.moris.co.uk, I recently took out insurance on my bike when I did a track day in Spain. I't not cheap but out of all the companies I tried the covered the most and where the most reasonable.
