Servicing around Midlands/Warwickshire Area

Hi everyone,

Can anyone recommend a garage/mechanic around the west midlands/warwickshire area (I'm in Kenilworth) who knows what he/she is doing with Ducatis and charges a reasonable price.

I need to get the belts changed and valve clearances checked on my 2005 S4R and possibly a major service (although I can do most of the fluid and filter changes etc. myself if it came down to it). Ducati Coventry want a pretty ludicrous £1100 for a major service (more than a quarter of what I paid for the bike!) and £500 for just the belts/valves. I was expecting half that cost.

If you know of anywhere that fits the bill please give us a heads up.

Thanks, Graham

G-Tec in Mkt Harborough seem to have a good reputation, and have been very helpful when I've phoned them with questions.
I haven't actually used them myself though, and I have no idea how their prices compare.

JHP = Just High Prices! £1100 for a service, they're having a laugh

I've used JHP and G-Tec. Both are excellent and both are not cheap. However, the bike runs so well after they have had breathed on it, that you only need to see them once every two years or so. That's my experience anyway.

Try Neil at Cornerspeed (Notts) - lots of folks on here use him, I've been using him for nearly a decade - a top bloke.

Took it to MES in the end and very happy with the service. Price of £308 was also much more reasonable for belts and valve check.
