Oil

Hi, so I have a question. Does it matter what oil I put in the 821??? Every single dealership I've spoken to uses something different but sticker on the engine asks for shells oil.... would it invalidate warranty if I were to stuff either motul factory or petronas or Mobil 1 fully synth double ester in??? I'm calling bs on the tyres and am having 180/55/17 fitted to the rear..

Asked and answered. "Ducati recommends Shell advance BUT as an alternative any 15w50 as long as it meets or beats the same standards" lifted from the hand book... so it'll be fed Petronas syntium moto RS4 15w50.

Motul 5100 15W50 semi-synthetic is a good alternative also.

Why not stick with Shell? They've been making oil for donkeys years so you know it's good stuff! Why do you want to change?

Should be fine as long as you use an equivalent motorcycle specfic oil, car oils have anti-friction additives that may cause problems with the wet clutch on a bike.
