Decentish '00 900Sie for sale

Nothing to do with me and needs some tidying and cosmetic work but still seems reasonable price for an earlyish (Ohlins) 900 Sie.

I like that.

That model M900 is in my eyes the one to have, the last of the old looks but with injection.

If I had the room I'd like to dress it up with the early teatray and speedo only clocks.

I would have to agree with you Nasher.
I had a '98 M900 and the ie is just better by a little bit in every respect.
More power, better brakes and better suspension on the S model, I regularly get 60+mpg too, which is an unexpected bonus.

The seller does not acknowledge that it is an S model as Darren has correctly identified.

It looks as if all the S bits are there except that I can't see the little mudguard extension under the swinging arm, which I don't think most people would even know about?

He seems to be giving a good honest appraisal of the bike, which obviously would need a good check over if bought, as would any new purchase
The headlamp is not original and I can't work out if it's the Bosch lamp in it or a 7". This would probably tie in with the sellers suspicion about an insurance claim and the clock change?

It's heartening to see the staring bid compared to my pristine example, it will be interesting to see what it goes for.

I'd be worried about the cracked engine mount and how it got it.

I'm not aware it's a common thing or even a thing at all. I'd want to check the frame, if whatever caused the cat is what cracked the engine mount then I would think the frames not straight.

Either way its an engine out and very likely a strip to repair.

Indeed, almost certainly been crashed. Maybe an 'easy' repair but needs removing & welding etc.

Unless you can DIY it then it could be costly...

Yep, having my own TIG is handy, which is why it didn't really bother me.

It could of course be as simple as the main bolt being loose which could cause the same issue as the frame flexed around the frame.
