New & first time Ducati owner

Finally bought a Ducati after nearly getting one back in 09. Had many happy years with a Triumph Street Triple, but always fancied a Ducati and now riding a Monster 821 Dark.

Totally different riding experience and enjoying it, especially the noise.

So joined the forum, saying a big HELLO and hopefully be around here a bit (but not too much as I'm sure it'll cost me money)

Welcome sir,

Heard great reviews (footpegs aside) about the new 821.

This is a great forum with some proper helpful people.

Enjoy!

Oh welcome to the club and you must be one of the earliest 821 owners on the Forum.
Really like the 821

Welcome. Lots on here will be interested how you are getting on with your new bike. I think many of us are curious and have one eye on the 821... Just don't tell the wife!

Thanks for the welcomes, feel at home already! I've had the bike just over 2 weeks now, as ordered on a whim before they were available to test ride.

Still running it in, so keeping the revs down, but getting close to having full beans available.

Pegs can be an issue for some, but I've small feet, so not too bad. Only other issue is a few times we've not found a gear when changing through the gears higher up, so 5th to 6th for example. Being looked at when it goes in on Friday for its first service. Also, mirrors are bloody useless, they vibrate so much you can only just make out if something is behind you.

Looking forward to getting the seat cowl on and desperate for a tail tidy to get rid of the current big dangly and wobbly install.

Well, no photos of bling, as it couldn't be fitted.

When they unboxed the cowl, during transit, the paint had been rubbed through to the primer / plastic. So what should've been 100% black, wasn't

So they're sending it back and getting me a replacement.

Nice choice! Welcome to the forum.

I'm getting the impression the 821 has hit the sweet spot.

Wishing you many happy miles on it.

Now I can access the full rev range, it's certainly more fun, especially when hitting about 7k RPM. It wakes up quite a bit!

Love the slipper clutch, but still having a few issues with finding neutral in the higher gears
