Early M900 Engine Agip Sticker Placement
Hi,
Can anyone tell me where a 1993 M900 had the original agip sticker near the clutch? Is it directly above the clutch or a bit to the right? Thanks, Ross |

I think Albie's probably the man for a definitive answer but I don't think there was a single 'approved' position. I've seen them by the oil pressure switch as in slob's picture but also directly above the clutch as here.
Perhaps it depends on the year or perhaps it depends on who stuck it on in the factory. |

slob is correct. Its placed on the original brochure there. Tbh I dont think it matters as the original idea was having info and mechanics may have stuck them where they liked. I need to check mine now I dont recall where but I have spares. Some agip ones are different too if your being picky. Some had dates and miles.

Is it possible to buy a sticker ? I'm also in the market for an oil level sticker if anyone knows a source.
Thanks Nigel

https://www.isaydingdong.co.uk/oursh...s-15-Pair.html Albie, again, might be able to help with your search for an oil level decal as he had to source one for his rebuild. |

What year did they switch to Shell Advance? I have a feeling my '02 should have the Shell equivalent sticker not AGIP.

definitely, they were already on Advance by ‘02, don’t know when they started but Shell were one of the title sponsors for the S4 Challenge series that year.

Thanks guys, I'm going with the same placement as you Albie, although on my last 1997 M900 it was directly above.

As per original sales brochure that is. I agree with your sentiment on top though. More obvious as some may well be. Certainly were on later models.

My Monster engine ('95) had an Agip sticker in the more forward position, I've repainted it black and so has nothing now but my 916 has a (Shell Advance) sticker in the more upright position - I assume this is because: 1. Shell were paying more than Agip at that time, at least for racing purposes. 2. 916 has a fairing so it would not be visible in the forward position. Maybe someone more used to building 916 engines stuck the sticker on the Monster with the upright positioning? Maybe the case was swapped in production as they are the same (colour maybe different though). Quite possibly they moved it to the top later for consistency with other models (such as 916 etc.) where the positioning was more 'important' or it's just one of those things that lack consistency.
