Akropovic, Termignoni and the list goes on...
Viper, Yoshimura, Akropovic, Termignoni, Leo Vince, MIVV, G&G. I can see from this forum, that there are different opinions on products and almost everyone loves what they have fitted but can you share your experiences with us newbies.
Upgrading an exhaust (but still being road legal) isn't all about volume. For me, I'm looking for a better sound not just more noise...call me strange. What are your preferences on Titanium or Carbon? Which manufacturer do you recommend for a M696 and which would you steer clear of? What effect will a change have on fuelling. Will I need to get it retuned? Any advice, wisdom or experience welcome. Grasshopper |

Personal taste most the time - love my Zards - they all have they're own sound to
However if I had a new monster I would get the ones RJBex has - they are the muts nuts

if you fit free flowing pipes you will probably need to remap the fueling to get maximum gains from them
as regards brands and power extracted advice I got from local dyno shop is it makes virtually zero difference and to buy what ever you can get the best deal on |

depends on which bike and the looks you want i.e. high/low level, single/twin, stacked shotgun style etc etc
Termis are the "standard" and are what most others are compared to, but as said Zards sounds great, I have Leo Vince which is a little different (sounds slightly more raspy to my ears, with a little less bass than termis?!) I went for Leos as they were much cheaper than termis, and the single can cleans things up a little IMHO. |

Just get whatever you like the look of/can afford. Slip ons won't give much power gain if at all and they'll all sound great!

I would LOVE to have some Termi's but at a few quid under a grand that is highly unlikely for a good while yet, I keep checking ebay etc for 2nd hand, there were some on there last week from a written off 1100 but they went very quickly and still for more than I could afford.
I keep looking at these as they look and sound pretty good and seem well priced, has anyone ordered from them? http://www.sc-project.com/ Some sound/video clips: 696: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLWZ0..._order&list=UL 1100: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdgTf..._order&list=UL |

Thanks Char, The Zards do look good and sound great; just had a browse on their site. Which variation did you choose?
http://www.zardexhaust.com/?page_id=221 RGBex do you have a picture to share with us? Which manufacturer did you opt for, I’m assuming Muts Nuts isn’t stamped on the side of them Hey Popelli, manufacturers like Akrapovic claim ‘the max. increased power of 5.38 HP was measured at 4400 rpm’. It probably was under laboratory conditions, but they are here to sell. I guess there is no guarantee until you do your own testing, but 7.5% is not a bad improvement if it’s true. http://www.akrapovic.com/motorcycle-...on-e240050601/ Steeevvvooo, Thanks for the advice. Looks like LeoVince are making twin pipes for the 696, get your wallet out for an upgrade. http://www.leovince.com/en/catalog-d...008_2010/13960 They look great and I am a fan of the twin high mount. However the Termi’s website is probably the worst on the net so no idea what they are offering! http://www.termignoni.it/products_de...p?id=1336#dett Chris Y, The Arrows have a similar high twin system that look really good, I’m now starting to worry about all the choice out there! Incredible paint job, is you bike a special edition or is this custom paint job? http://www.arrow.it/eng/website/ Steve1100, You are right the SC Project cans are pretty reasonable and it would be good to get some feedback from anyone who has them fitted. Watch the right foot peg vibrate with increased revs, looks like it wants to get away from the noise! http://www.sc-project.com/ducati_mon..._oval_line.htm Blah, Blah I may have found the second worst website on the net, Micron need some marketing advice! Here are a few other links, other companies I’d never heard of. http://hmfracing.com/shop/pipes/duca...ster-696-08-10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_UIoIvwJKw Conclusion is there is more choice than I thought, power might be increased but we are not sure, and I have to sell my soul to the Diavel to get a set. I think Louis Cypher would choose these...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VusUJQp5VdY but that’s just my opinion. Thanks all |
