You have to get that perfect and free from pinholes. Then mask up the stripes and add up to 10% of the desired basecoat to the lacquer in the gun, in this case the same Gold as the wheels.
Then spray on light coats until the opacity is at the desired level.. Tricky! I aim to still be able to see the carbon weave through the coloured lacquer.
Then de-mask and clear lacquer over the whole thing for the last time.
If you want to see carbon painted to absolute ultimate cool, take a look at Capo's tank.
I'm planning on buying a carbon helmet and having a play along similar lines.
