No connection - eBay

Thought this looked not bad, maybe an interest for someone on here.

Found it yesterday and was thinking of having a punt but once again someone blows the trumpet!!!!

Bargain hunting is a thing of the past it seems.

Lololololololololol. Yep by the time you re-commission it and buying cost. It’ll be expensive.

Nice tho, and the guy clearly knows a thing or two as he is very explicit about not trying to turn it over.

Yes for a change it seems to be very honestly described and presented, with the seller clearly being in the know about the risk of starting a long term stored Ducati on old belts.
For sure the tyres and belts will need to go for starters, but it looks like a very enjoyable and simple re-commission.

No offence to you personally Ron, but what I was really alluding to and what really ticks me off sometimes, is the posting up on here of auctions on eBay.
If I find something I would like to put a bid on, I'd rather not be bidding against too many hungry punters and so I like to keep it quiet. Bidding against my club mates would be even worse, as even if my last bid is unsuccessful, it will have taken money out of a club mates pocket.

It's not the first time I've moaned about this on here and probably not the last.. Just something I'm not happy about.

Once again I'm taking it on the chin. This one can slip away as it will inevitably go for too much now, I don't want a grey bike anyway and I should be saving up for an electric one.

Happy bidding..

It unfortunately seems to be the norm, such as on ‘ ducati forum uk’. As you’ve probably seen, has a thread dedicated to e-bay bikes.
Regarding electric bikes, i’m loving the energica streetfighter. But not at that price!

Sadly so Damien! Gone are the days of discretion and the old boy network.

I fondly remember the days before the internet and come to that even before the free-ads papers. Mates would let mates know of bikes coming up for sale that they might be interested in and some sweet deals were had. Also some titanic races happened if more than one punter was in the know. Sometimes you won, maybe not another time.
I only remember one falling out over a lost race, but he was a spoilt baby and ended up with not many mates in the end.

I'm hoping to test ride Eva as soon as my local electric bike shop get a demo in. I will have a lot of saving to do but it does look the business. Kingfisher88 has ridden one and says it's even better than the Zero I rode... Electric is getting better..

I’m with Gaza here, I’ve more or less stopped browsing eBay looking for bargains for just this reason.
As for the other forum, that sucks... just when I thought my opinion couldn’t get any lower.
A ‘white label’ site run by a commercial ISP that spotted an opportunity to cash in.
I was deeply saddened to see that DuN seems to have become bookface’s latest victim in its quest for global domination.

That ‘other forum’ has a few characters that try to dominate, to the point that i’m sure it puts people off posting replies, for fear of being shot down. ( i have had some genuine good advise in between the rest of the dribble ).
Much friendlier on here!

I still don’t do social media. I took a long time to get on whatsapp, which is very handy. That looks to be changing with it’s facebook tie-in, just being the start!

Once again Ron, and to be clear its nothing personal and I'm sorry you caught the flak of my paddy this time! You just managed to touch a nerve.

This is a lovely club with no particular rules, so decorum wins every time, thank goodness.
I would just like to see some discretion with the posting of Monster auctions though.
If we did have a rule, I think it should be banning the posting of the words "no connection" together.. They seem to have become trigger words to start off one of my turns..
