A convert

After 38 years on japanese 2 strokes, and fours ranging from 400 to 1300 I've bought a 1200 Monster and.........it's the most fun I've had on a bike for years, and I've raced and still do track days at a respectable pace. The noise alone is worth riding for, let alone the performance, and if I'm not riding it I can always just look at it.
I think I've been converted. Let's hope the reliability is as good as the rest of its attributes.

Welcome to ownership.
Glad you love it so far. A very useful tool that engine and certainly is up to trackdays , as I've used my 821 for. Keep an eye on the Trackday thread for what other members are up to.
For the UK we tend to use No Limits quite a lot.

Don't worry about the fabled Ducati unreliability.
That went out with the '80s.
They're as reliable as anything else nowadays.

Good, aint they ?

Excellent stuff!!

I feel that way after owning my 900 for fifteen years- it still puts a grin on my face every time I ride it.

Reliability shouldn't be an issue although they do perhaps need a little more pampering than the average Oriental offering.
They don't like missing services or sitting around not being used which is a good enough excuse to get out and ride it.

Out of interest what did you used to race?

But they don't like a slow ride on a hot night still

Thanks for the welcome. In response to Flip, I used to race formula 600 mainly. Started with Derby Phoenix and EMRA, then went on to do more with New Era and some bemsee. Went on to race 1000's but not for long.
