Looks mickey bing bong to me. Particularly dislike the tank frame interface.

I hope none get offended by the comments but having been on the end of some by my choices it's in the view of looks not how great it performs. How many didn't like 999 and even the Panigale and moto gp bike which even I'm not a lover of the look. We all have different views of taste and looks. I would gladly ride one but not commit cash to one and listen to all the stories of how great it rides.

It's missing the one visual that defined the monster, a trellis frame.
Possibly a great performer but for me, it's just now up against every other brand on the spec.

This made me laugh, apparently Yamaha invented the Monster naked bike in 2014!

MT-09. Revolutionising an icon

The original MT-09 was a totally new kind of Japanese machine that brought real excitement and pure emotion back to the motorcycle world. It inspired over 50,000 European riders to be a part of the growing Hyper Naked movement. Now the all-new MT-09 has arrived, and it’s built to join the Dark Side of the Japan!

Find out more ». https://www.yamaha-motor.eu/gb/en/pr...w-motorcycles/

OK looking bike though!

Wow! Even worse in real (video) life. Surely it can't be that awful. I'm going to have to pop in a dealer and have a look for real now.

To be honest I'm not a fan but would still like to see one in real life.I do like the twin upswept exhausts though, although the big tin box underneath looks awful.

Kimbo

P.S Am I the only person thinking that the idea behind the original Monster was that Ducati wanted people to customise it? Not sure how that would work with this new bike.

The more I look, the more special details there are, like the massive lambada sensor turret on the front exhaust sticking straight up or how the right hand side pillion peg has to avoid the exhaust so it appears to be about a foot further out than the left side.

And I've just had a look on the Ducati website, there are a few gems on there as well about how it integrates all the unmistakable elements that characterize the iconic model: the bison-back-shaped tank, (pooping dog???) the round headlight, the clean tail, not to mention the greater prominence given to the engine

err, okay, and the tank, so what's that like then? Oh, I see it's a volume that dominates the direction indicators characterized by the swiping technology.

Right....

They've got some stiff competition but I'm sure it'll sell so it'll be interesting to see if the new owners are enjoying the Maximum compactness and lightness wisely combined with the traditional yet essential and pure lines of Ducati and we can ask if they are aware of the volume of the side panels and how the technical elements contribute to create modern and technological suggestions

Is it true that it comes with a Ducati Performance plain brown paper bag that you can put over it when not riding?

My God! That really is one ugly squealing f#ck Pig.

The "indicators" disappear at a far shallower angle from the front than I thought they would! The headlamp is round eh?

I thought they had outlawed those front brake hoses that loop over the wheel long ago, but this one is teetering over the tyre, held only by a very small looking (plastic?) clip.
It's only a matter of time before one of those clips fails somewhere in the world, for whatever reason, and the rider can kiss goodbye to their next birthday!

Shall we start a petition to get Ducati to stop calling it a Monster?
