This will make you laugh!

So I recently completed a valve adjustment on my bike. It was the first time I did it so you can imagine the countless hours of preparation and research that i put in to ensuring I did a good job!
Anyway job complete, started the bike, great it runs lovely, off I went to bed that night with a nice sense of satisfaction. The next morning I top up the fuel tank and run it again, I see a puff of smoke out of the exhaust! I said to myself “ahh it’s just some residue on the exhaust or something” nothing to worry about. Next time a run the bike more smoke appears! That’s it I’ve wrecked it!! Stem seals, blow by, I’m going to have to strip it. Gutted!
Fed up I went to mow the lawn with my trusty Honda, top it up and start it and it’s started to smoke!
What’s going on.... After a couple of days of tearing my hair out I realised I used the fuel can with pre mixed 2 stroke!!! After topping of the tank with fresh fuel it’s probably running around 100/1.

The classic v-twin sound with the smell of a TZ! Sounds like a perfect combination.

Easily done!

I build and fly free-flight model aircraft, in particular vintage designs using period engines.

I once spent ages trying to start a normally easy starting diesel engine - (fuel is a mix of ether, kerosene and oil in equal parts) and did get it to go eventually although running roughly only to realise I was using the fuel for my spark ignition engines (75% petrol + 25% oil).

It really shouldn't have started, let alone run!

If anyone sees this as an opportunity to mention me filling up with diesel in Cornwall I'll... Oh damn! I've mentioned it myself!..

Gaza was lucky, in as much as he realised before turning the ignition back on, meaning the fuel injection rail was still uncontaminated, allowing the tank to be drained and flushed before any damage was done.

Yes I got by with a little help from my friends. That was the lucky part.

On a Sunday morning, as far West as we could get from our homes. Jeff rushed round and found tube and containers, so he and Rob could syphon it all out. Thuli beat me to the till to pay for the rinse petrol which Jeff and Rob then also syphoned out and threw away.

I still remember the camaraderie of that epic weekend... It was three years ago!

I’m still amused at the thought of the taxi guy who gladly took twentysomething litres of diesel/petrol mix to ‘get rid of in the boss’s car’

I used to have a bog stock FZR600r that used a bit of oil.

Well it looked bog stock but the bloke I bought it from had used it for 600cc proddy racing and had stuck a 620cc kit with single piston rings on it. I had to carry a bottle of oil around if I went anywhere as it burnt it like a 2 stroke...

And no pictures or comments about anything else
