Ducati warranty
After the news that Royal Enfield will extend their warranty to beyond the lockdown for those affected I thought I would ask Ducati if they would do the same for my Monster. Reply from Ducati was (in layman's speak) **** off, not our fault you cant use your bike.
I'm a bit disappointed as they will expect me to pay for a full service at the two year point. Any thoughts?

You can use your bike, though only for permitted journeys.

I don't know who you spoke to, but I'd suggest that they read their own press releases! This from MCN 20 May:
"Ducati do good Ducati have extended their warranties and free updates to owners as part of their response to coronavirus. The warranties on new bikes, and those in the 'Factory Ever Red' programme will be lengthened by three months. The extension will also include a free check plus any software updates. Owners that are due servicing or updates will be contacted by their dealer." Note that the full press release (contained in the link above) states:
"All owners of a Ducati, whose warranty has a deadline between 1 March 2020 and 31 May 2020, can have a free extension of coverage for an extra three months." So, if your warranty expires after 31 May, you probably won't benefit unfortunately. |
