front wheel chock

Hello,
has any one bought one of them front wheel clamps that you roll the wheel in and it hold the bike upright?

When I had the bike delivered there was one in the van and I wish I had taken a pic of it.

Thanks

Billy

I used to have one but if left in for any length of time it got stuck and I had to ask a neighbour to help me drag the bike off it. That was wedge shaped so might be better if it was rounded

Yep I use one for my track bike on the trailer. Good quality ones do their job well, poor quality ones hmmm do the job but look a bit flimsy.

I prefer the cantilevered style ones.

Mine was great just didn’t work well when not using the bike much in winter. Was given to me by a friend and to be fair wish I’d not given it back as like Ron says would have been great for in my trailer for going to track days.

Yes, they are a bugger to get out.

I have one and think it's very good, allows me to park the bike in it while I get a rear stand to lift the bike up level. It's very stable and holds the bike up fine, quite easy to get the bike out when the works been done as well. Don't know what make it is but it has a rocking front tyre holder.

I have 2 different types. They both work very well, but the common issue is leaving the bike in them for a time, the tyre shoulders stick to the wheel cradle and sometimes makes removal a big tug!! (poor phrasing) Wipe some silicon grease on the inside and that stops it all, or a piece of cloth works as well/better.

I have one of these fitted in my trailer: https://www.bumpstop.co.uk/
Not the cheapest but robust & top quality.
I have used cheaper alternatives but this is definitely superior

I've got a couple of them for use in the garage. They work very well, holding a bike up nice and straight and easy to use although after long-term use the tyre does tend to 'stick' so needs foot on chock before wheeling out.

The only other thing I would advise is that for long-term storage, use a rear stand with it because if your front tyre went down it might lean far enough to be unstable?
