For information:

I assume there are no fault codes on the dash when you press the mode switch?

There are 2 tests in Luddites post the 1st is the switching test of the connector the 2nd is the continuity. You've already checked continuity a few different ways already, but did you check the switching of the connector or the start button? As I said previously if the plug or the button has a bad connection then the solenoid won't work properly.

when i press the start button the solenoid clicks so and if i hold the button down the pump in the tank keeps priming ( is this normal)

if stop pressing the pump stops. so I feel the button is working happy to be corrected

I am tempted to get a new solenoid coz I cant do any more.

I pulled a plug to see if it sparked when I put a screwdriver between the solenoid terminals and yes is sparked.

Usually when immobiliser doesn't read the coded ignition key so the immobiliser stays on. Try a different key, not the red one though, if you have another black key try that one.

Ideally, yes. The full Termi kit comes with a more open airbox lid, performance air filter and replacement ECU. You may be able to find the lot second hand but, if you just get the cans, Neil at Cornerspeed can remap your stock ECU by post. http://cornerspeed.co.uk/tuning.php

Took the words right out of my mouth there Luddite but even if billy gets the ECU and Filter or has to buy a performance filter a Rexxer re flash is still the way to go.

You can get a spare air filter lid and mod it yourself to bring it up to the free flow of the Ducati performance item.
