LED Indicator problems.

Forgive me but posted original on facebook, story was I could not get my newly fitted (lockdown garage time) Ducati performance LED indicators to work normally so ended up as this.

"Ok, decided to mount both front led indicators and remove the rear Led ones, now the 2 front led's work perfectly when there are 2 normal indicators on the rear, but flash fast if I put 2 Led indicators on the rear ?? So at the moment I have 2 x Led on the front and 2 x standard on the rear and now they all work normally"

All resistors in place etc.

Any answers gratefully received.

Each LED needs its own resistor.
I had the same problem all sorted now with 4 R&G resistors.

All 4 resistors as supplied by Ducati performance parts fitted.

Have you tried switching the resistors around, or maybe check each with a meter?

Have you tried all four indicators with the engine actually running? For some reason, they only flash normally when the motor is running; with engine off and ignition on, they flash at double speed.

Yea, I think the flasher circuitry is in the ECU on those later bikes, no relay so that kinda makes sense.

Having put the bike back together I will go back down and strip the back end out and try, sigh, it's a good job we are on lock down

Before removing the rear indicators again, just try plugging in the led ones (plus resistors of course!) into the loom (they are earthed through the wires rather than the frame so don't actually have to be mounted to work). That way, if they still won't work with the engine running, you won't have to remount the originals (again!).

I got caught out like this when I fitted mine http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/s...52&postcount=2

But, in our defence, there's nothing in the installation instructions mentioning this is there?

Spot on as usual, dropped the rear tray, unplugged std indicators and plugged in the led’s complete with resistors. Turned on ignition and tried them, as before fast flashing, started engine and no change for a few seconds then flash went back to normal flash time, how weird Ducati, how weird. Thanks guys will now go and replace them just waiting for garage to clear of fumes cough cough 😷😷😷

ECU controlled. I’ll need to mind that.

Just to add to the mix: I fitted a pair of Panigale LED indicators to the rear & they required a resistor per indicator to flash correctly even when the engine was running. I eventually replaced the front pair & they work perfectly without resistors, I have no idea why.
