Side stand for ducati monster 600 year 2000A

Have got a stand for a Ducati - it's from either a 90s' Monster or SS but not sure which model.
Can send photos if you want. I think I may have bought it off Mr. G but TBH I can't remember which stand I got from whom or where the others went.

It's been fitted with a modified part so that it doesn't flip up as soon as you stand the bike upright. It also has a 3 pin SuperSeal connector on the end of it as well.

Would like to get £50 + postage for it (probably around the £55 mark).

If you send me a PM with your email address in it then I can send you photos of the stand.

The side stand you got from me was from an M900ie. It has a forged steel mounting bracket and slightly kinked leg.
It will fit all the old shape Monsters, ST and SS too.
However the M600 will have had an Ally mounting bracket and possibly and ally leg too.
I'm sure this will be held by the two shoulder bolts that also hold the bottom of the footrest hangers whereas the steel one only picks up the forward shoulder bolt which leaves the need for a spacer behind the rear one.
The ally ones are usually the "suicide" type which ping up on their own once the weight comes off. The steel one has a switch (hence the cable and connector) which connects to n interlock killing the ignition when the stand is down.
There'll probably be no interlock circuit on the 600.

Not an interlock but, I used an M600 (1999) wiring harness on my M900 and it has a connector to the stand for a stand-down indicator light.

In that case the carbie and ie stand switches must work in the opposite sense to one another.

Carbie = Stand down. circuit closed to illuminate warning light
ie models = Stand up. circuit closed to enable engine to run.

I say this because in the absence of a switch, or a faulty switch on an ie model you have to use a jumper pin in the connector block to make the engine run and override the interlock.

You can swap between suicide or stay down stand by means of the link between spring and bracket.
Suicide link is straight and contacts the pivot bolt head before the spring is fully extended.
Stay down link is "C" shaped and wraps round the bolt head, clearing it.
I don't think the stay down link is a standard part, but they are still available as an after market part. I can find a web type link to the part if needed.

Coincidentally, the switch on my stand broke last week - the rubber moulding/cable relief basically broke off, bringing the wires with it.

I have since repaired it but did notice that although there are only 2 wires in the plug (circuit closed when down) there was also a third wire, albeit not connected to the plug, that was the opposite. Presumably to allow it's use on any variant?

As you say, stay down or 'suicide' options can be changed by the type of link/plate, my Monster has a stay-down stand whilst my 916 has the suicide version and has no switch fitted.
