Question West Midlands - Where to get S4 serviced?

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum so thought I would drop a post or 3 on here. I have recently purchased a Ducati Monster S4, 2001.

It is in need of a major service which I want to get done in the near future. So far I have spoken to my local Ducati Dealers which is Ducati Wolverhampton and have been told a major service will be at least £480+ VAT, how does this price sound to you guys.

Can anyone else recommend other dealers who will be able to carry out a service to a high standard, possibly with a competetive price to this?

Thanks
Stu

Good to know there's some one fairly local to me who looks after Ducati's, I'm gonna try him myself.

I got a bit worried when I recently rang Ducati Wolverhampton, and the chap who answered the phone said something along the lines of "I didn't know they made a 750 monster" !

Hello local boy

Stu,

Nice to see someone else from Stourbridge has taste and may I say on behalf of all here.... welcome.

Thought I'd throw my 2 pennies in, seeing as I've trusted mine with Ducati Wolves for the last 18 months.

They're not the cheapest, in fact by far. BUT, the lads in the workshop are ace and bear in mind Tony is an ex Ducati racer and I believe Scott (one of the workshop guys) is something to do with his race team.

They've always given me good, honest service and I suppose a fair price (bloody Italian bikes). On the other hand if I'd wanted cheap I'd have bought something else.

If you fancy an extra opinion from a dealer try JHP in Cov. Also very good.

independant servicing West Midlands

By the date I can see the original posting way a few years ago. 2007?

I'm looking for an trustworthy, knowledgable, independent Ducati specialist in the West Midlands or within an hour or two's ride. Bristol has a couple. I've no complaints with Ducati Wolves and Ducati Cov. just looking for alternatives.

I previous had a Buell X1 (99) and travelled to Manchester from Birmingham for my services because Maz was always highly recommended, good value, and a great help to all Buell owners. (See the Buell owners website, he's still doing well)

Any recommendations welcome and mentions of those to avoid.

Haven't used them myself, yet, but you could look into G.tec in Leicestershire. I've heard a few good reports, and their prices may well be a bit more reasonable than the local main dealers.

Ducati Coventry for me to bikes have always come back excellent. Had bad experience at Wolverhampton but saying that it was 5 years ago things may have changed.

Quite a few options in the Midlands, used to take my newer bikes to JHP but now prefer Geoff at Baines, he did a great job on my Monster and its good to pop down and have a chat while he's working on your bike. I caught the train back from Bicester to Brum. There's also Neil at Cornerspeed in Nottingham, heard good reports but not used myself.

Hey everyone !
Yesterday I had some rizoma indicators fitted by the guys over at Triumph Birmingham.
Prices OK, good honest friendly service.

The news is that the dealership has been bought by the guys who own Ducati Manchester and Preston.
The shop remains a Triumph showroom but all of the technicians are apparently to receive full training for Ducati.

thought I'd share.

Up to date service and repair recommendation for Birmingham

May I resurrect this thread as I'm after an up to date recommendation for someone to sort out my Reg/rec or battery problem. They need to be within easy reach of Birmingham.

I'm skint at the moment but need the bike to work so 'value' is a top priority, preferably someone who accepts credit cards.

Thanks

Just for reference, I use Neil at "Cornerspeed" in Sutton in Ashfield, Notts. In fact, I bought my second Monster from him.
Really nice guy who does the work that's needed, quickly and reasonably.
Have been to Coventry too, but, nowhere near Neil's level of customer service.
