2024 Lincs. Italian Motorcycle Festival, Saturday 17th August.
Chris tried to post this, but the server messed it up. Sorry! Even though Chris tried to retire from this last year, it's back by popular demand. One of the best meets going. Really pleased to see it back on the calendar. Thanks Chris.

Well it's a bit far away for me now, but I would recommend the event to anyone else who is considering it. A great opportunity to meet up with fellow Monster owners, plus interesting aircraft to boot. A good do all in all.

Everything is set for this event on Saturday.
Paul Klatkiewicz, Ducati Technical Services, has confirmed that he'll be there with one of his Ducati race machines. |

Only about a hundred miles to this one for me, but always seems much further, especially the journey home?
Always well worth the effort though, this is a fabulous show with a splendid selection of Italian steeds on show. Still no idea what I'll be riding, but looking forward to meeting lots of you folks again.

Yes, always worth the trip though, as I've just discovered my Son is competing in a strongman event on the day so, unfortunately I won't be making it this time.

Well it seemed to take all morning to get to East Kirkby this time, it was quite chilly too, until I got to Spalding to have a break and a warm up in the Sun.
Dacs was there just before me on his gleaming M1000Sie. We turned out to be the only UKMOC members there as far as I know. This is a very poor show compared to the many previous years. Don't know why our members don't want to go out and meet up any more?? Despite this, there were several interesting Monsters on show. This S4R was unnecessarily loud, but had some nice wheels, Ducati Magnesium Gold if I'm not mistaken? It had an unusual bottom yoke that appeared to actually be Magnesium?

Dacs found out that this one was originally an S4 Chromo, but it's had a few interesting mods, notably a rather saucy swinging arm, Dymag wheels and Ohlins forks.
I met the owner of this immaculate S4R who buys new Ducatis in threes and is keen on looking in on UKMOC to try and find a de-cat kit for this one.

I tried to either borrow an Energica for the day or get Nathan to ride one up, but as it turned out Dacs found one already there for me.
They look much more Italian in Red, but still a striking looking bike. The owner introduced himself to me and it turns out that this is his third Energica and a Zero before that. We both shop at the same shop and he's not far from me. The first other electric fan I've met on the road so far. He's a proper high mileage rider, travels all over Europe on his electric bikes and commutes on it in all weathers too.. Kindred spirits. My favourite thing of the day was his tank sticker. I want one. Best ride home from here so far with minimal traffic off the beaten track, dry roads and perfect weather.. Great day out, shame you couldn't have made it..

Thanks to Chris Jessop and his team for another great day out. Just in case the casual observer on this forum thinks the day was all about Monsters, other bikes were available, including Buells (obviously) and a line-up of 19 Vincents. However, each or all of the following would have had a home in my dream collection -
most definitely - best paint (or wrap, not sure) both the red ones, please nicely modded HD XR1000 Jota, 999, Classic Sport 1000, Guzzi Griso and Ducati GT750 - also Monster 1000Sie down the line, but only the tank bag is visible) Motobi, lovely. Typical of its time, proprietary stuff like hubs, brakes exhausts etc shared with early Ducati singles and many other sub-350 Italian singles - OK, maybe not this one, the maintenance load is far too high -
