Top Yoke Advice

I’m fitting an aftermarket top yoke.

It’s about 1cm thicker than the OEM clamp which means I need about 1cm more fork length at the top for the new yoke to fit nicely on.

I’m assuming I can relax the bottom clamp and slide the required 1cm of fork needed to accommodate the new yoke?

Yes, if it needs it. It will quicken the steering a bit ... check the front exhaust has enough clearance over speed bumps if you don't raise the rear to match.

If the bike isn't *fully* supported, only slacken one side at a time or the bike will head downwards *quite quickly* when you relax the clamp on the second fork leg!

sorry... correction: ignore the raising the rear in relation to dropping the front!
the rest applies.
