Fiat Ducati
So, have I missed this news or has it simply not happened? Everyone was talking it up like it was inevitible that if Rossi went, then so would Fiat. But I cant recall seeing anything about a possible change in sponsors.....

Fiat will be pulling out from what I've heard. They want people to mention their name in the same breath as Rossi and Ducati, but all that people are talking about is Rossi Rossi Rossi and Ducati Ducati Ducati. No value in it for them apparently.

You still aren't very keen on Valentino are you Rob? .
If nothing else, it's gonna be very interesting to see if he "gells" with the Desmosedici next season. I like the bit on the BBC Sport MotoGP website "Hayden to partner Rossi at Ducati". Move over Nicky, it's second fiddle time again. Reminds me of Schuey/Farrari and the bit-part players of Irvine and Barrichello. G ; ) . |

I had read reports that Petronas (who already sponsor Yamaha) were ready to become title sponsors (with the relevent increase in funding) should Fiat bow out. Maybe a change afoot...........

Will he wear the Marlboro bar code logo? A yellow ducati or Rossi in red leathers ? It's a marketing man's nightmare. Will Rossi let ducati use his name or number? The offtrack politics will be very complicated, as his management and ducati compete to see who can screw the ducatisti the most. The hardest fought battle in motogp next year may well be in the offices and shops not on the track. |
