Tonight I have learned that...

Ducati Bronze frame paint is not a match for the Gold frame on my 1997 (regd 98) bike. Oh well... anyone want a part used aerosol of Bronze paint, only done three frame tubes? New to this Ducati ownership lark, but I'll get there in the end, I always do.

New can of Gold paint on order.

Fuming!!

Hmmm. I wouldn't expect a match with your frame using Ducati "Gold".

Matching the various shades of frame paint is a pain.

There’s quite a lot written about it here:

There's a lot to read there and it's bound to be filled with stuff I'll need to remember. I'll have to read it another day because I'm on lunch from work right now and this evening will be spent prepping my kit and loading up for a trackday at Brands tomorrow.

The frame is only getting the left side painted from front to back - petrol staining from a leaky fuel hose, not the usual leaky seam thankfully. There won't really need to be any blending in at any visible point hopefully.

Thanks for the assistance.

I've got some of that in the more forward part, but mainly staining from fuel dripping off the lowest point of the tank and onto the frame from where it's run down the underside of the tank.

A simple breather hose clipped into place would stop the battery acid issue, but I see so many bike older batteries without one.
