SPOILER: Silly season 2016

The 2016 season has only just started but with a couple of contracts already signed it won't surprise me if this turns out to be true..

https://m.motomatters.com/analysis/2016/03/31/motogp_silly_season l

Ducati needs an alien but I thought they'd go for Vinales, instead looks like they went for a more known quantity

Hummm, as long as lovely Iannone keeps his seat at Ducati, I don't mind. He was much more consistent than Dovi last season, only crashing out in Valencia, although as a former Moto GP mechanic and I discussed a few weeks ago, we don't know what parts and settings that Dovi may have been testing throughout last season that differed from Iannone. Or if it was just a dip in form.

Yup. The Motomatters article was published yesterday and the Agostini one has been circulating all week...no April fool I think!

Regardless of that I'm not sure Jarvis could take another 2 years of this madness. Rossi made the smart move in signing right away and now JL has to make his move.

It's not an April fool, it's official silly season rumour and conjecture.

Might make sense. He's got enough chpshps so nothing to prove on the top bikes. If he can ride a Duke to the prize he'd go a long way to cementing Lege status and if they really are offering that sort of cash to ride then.......

After two years of unrealised high hopes with Vale cost so much in rider wages it nearly stopped the Superbike team/Panigale's development hopes in their tracks, I just don't see it myself...

Who knows? They now have the PIN number for Audi's bank card though.

Philip Morris is rumoured to be the one footing the bill

Phillip Morris bankrolled the Goat's time at Ducati. Its possible they could be persuaded to open the chequebook again, even though that didn't go too well. It's not like they have a plethora of places to spend their marketing billions any more.

Slightly different circumstances

*********Spoiler Alert*********

ie - not into his team mate on the last lap when a double podium was a shoe in. If Ducati were considering dropping one of their riders prior to that then I suspect that became a little more likely
