That is indeed exactly what it looks like
NASTY is the only word that springs to mind there is nothing about this bike to like. I honestly thought they couldn't make it any uglier than the last version Oh how they have excelled The Monster has gone

I'll reserve judgement 'til I've ridden one. I loved the 1200 the minute I tried it, I didn't warm to the 696 until I'd had a go, riding it changed my mind completely. Love the front indicators.
I'd rather see an Ohlins equipped 1200. |

I don’t think DUK will risk guessing at prices before Jan 1st

Just missing an IL4
Disappointing I assume there’s only the smaller one and this 937 now then, want a big engine you go for the SF?

I think it’s just the 937, if it’s lighter than the 821 and has riding modes, a smaller engine is a bit pointless. I will try and get more info from the factory.

Those indicators caught my eye too, Rob, (and the DRL). Bit of Audi influence in the sequential flashing, I think!
I also like the design of the swinging arm. In the blurb, they mention "sticker kits" and also plastic "cover kits" so I'm wondering if they've revisited the tank skin feature of the 696/796/1100. It certainly looks like the "tank" could be in three parts. If that is the case, they've hidden the fasteners well and it is to be hoped that, whatever material they've chosen for the actual tank, it is well and truly ethanol proof. (I wonder if it's GFRP like the subframe?) I can see this model bringing a lot of new riders into the Ducati fold who might have previously not considered it, provided the price is right. It's got the sweet 11° 937cc motor, which is consistently named as the best of the V-twins. The low weight (say 189 kg kerbside), low height, (with lowering kit), and the 18,000 mile service interval will be popular. And an A2 version will help too. |

If it's a naked bike, I like to be able to see at first glance the engine & configuration, be it a v twin, boxer or IL4.
It's not immediately obvious what the lump below the tank is, just a mass of black plastic & metal. First impressions - doesn't do it for me, but I'm sure I'm not part of Ducati's target market, not young, hip or urban enough. |

An Mt09 is 9k, so that should be a ball park price

DUK’s ‘average’ customer is a 50something yo male
Price for MT09 and eveything else will be up to 10% extra depending on what happens in the next few weeks |
