S2R red line?
Hi all,
Now I've done a few running-in miles it's getting round to the time to get my Ecu dialed in. Basically the engine is a S2R taken out to 98mm, raised comp ratio (10.8 : 1,at a guess), Vee2 300 cams, lightened flywheel, altered the balance factor to favour higher rev range, injected, with 45mm headers & open mufflers. So my first question is what is a sensible rev limit? (presently set at 8.5 I think). Second question has anyone any experience first or second hand of Motohub in Stoke-on-Trent. Bitza

Pretty sure the S2R800 I had wouldn't rev past 8.5K either, the hi comp pistons should favour mid range torque rather than top end power, a lot I suppose depends on how the cam profile affects the torque curve?

If you haven’t lightened pistons/rods and valvetrain the stock redline will be about right.

The 2V usually stop making power way before the redline anyway, unless it's been gas flowed? I bellieve that is one of the limiting factors when tuning, so really no need to rev it to the redline. 8.5K sounds about right though.
