Open day, Iconic Classics, Oakham May 30th.

Really looking forward to this as last years was cancelled due to you know what!

Iconic Classics is on the Oakham Enterprise park (The former HMP Burley) Just North of Oakham in Rutland.
If you're coming from Oakham take the second right into the estate then turn hard left and straight on.

This is just an open day to browse their stock of rare and enigmatic cars and bikes. Everything in there has a story or is totally unique, like Colin McCrae's actual Subaru or cars hand built for dictators, not to mention rare Ducatis with delivery mileage only.

Coffee and snacks are available and it will be attended by a local branch of the DOCGB.

This will be a great opportunity to meet up again after the famine, with all due respect to distancing and all that!

I am aiming to be there for 10.30am when it kicks off.

Also a chance to meet my pal next door who is a class act with a spray gun, if you have any re-finishing work pending.

I think you'll find they're 'GB' not 'UK'

This looks interesting. It's a long time since I've ridden out to Oakham. Thanks Gary.

I'll pop along.
It'll be great to get out and about again.
And at last we've had some decent rain .. there's been none hereabouts since the last road salt went down, much of which was still hanging around.
I daresay I'll meet you there .. unless anyone else is coming from the west (leicester in my case) and fancies meeting up en route.

It'll be great to meet up with you chaps again.
If you're coming up that way Mark the A6006 and A606 is a superb route from the West, apart from having to navigate through Melton Mowbray!
You can pick up the 6006 just north of Loughborough.

I did hear a rumour of a contingent calling in from the North West?

Dammit .. some family stuff has come up which will have to take priority so I'm afraid I'm going to have to bail on this now.

Nobody told me about any tickets. Have you booked into the classic show on the Rutland showground?
We will be at the Oakham enterprise park on the Ashwell rd. Two different gigs on the same day.

Very sorry to hear you can't make it Jeff, I was looking forward to a natter and swapsies.

Ah Yes. Seems I have booked the other event. Nevertheless, I'll be with you on Sunday, then may take a look down the road at their thing.

Had a great ride over there without freezing for a change. I picked my way across country from the end of the Guyhirn straight towards Stamford and even though I didn't follow my planned route, it got me there and was a pleasant ride with no time constraints in the Sun.. Better than battering down the A47 and A1..

Oakham was gridlocked due to the country boys show, I must have filtered for a solid mile or more.

Great to meet up with Mark and Tracy again and my old mate who now lives in Oakham.
Sadly I got a message from DaveR saying he had gone to his bike this morning to come and see us, but found the rear tyre flat and with a lump of metal in it.. Sorry Dave.. That was a let down..

The DOCGB arrived noisily with a nice selection of Ducatis including some big Monsters, though I must say that I saw some of the widest chicken strips ever on some of the bikes!!
I'm assuming the Laverdas came after I left as I didn't see your mate Patrick.

I'm not going to mention Marks first attempt at pulling away! Maybe you could use some "remove before flight" tags mate?..

About 220 warm miles and great to be back in the saddle again for a decent road trip, although the traffic was epic on the trunk roads.. Superspreader bank holiday weekend eh?
