First Monster, but my seventh Ducati.
Got myself a 19 plate ex-dem 1200S from Ducati Manchester, counting back through my previous bikes this'd be my seventh Ducati lol. Ynys Mon/Anglesey

Hello and welcome der888.
Do you have pictures of the other 6 Ducatis? I'm guessing at least one was an 888? Any bevels hiding on the list? I'm only on my fourth Ducati, which is my fifth Italian bike and 45th of all those I have had.

Yes one bevel Ducati, a Darmah SD900 bought in 1980, the first owner had fitted clip on's and a cheap fairing I dumped the fairing but kept the clip on's. The bikes are posted in the order I owned them. (the pics aren't showing sorry!)

Ooh! Exited now..
Pictures have to be hosted on this site. It's quite easy though. Go to https://postimages.org/ select size at 640 x 480 (for message boards) then "choose images." Once they are uploaded onto the next page, click on the line of text "hotlink for forums", then copy and paste the line into your post. Under the thumbnail on that page, you will see "upload another image"... Self explanatory really. Interested to hear a comparison of the Darmah to your Monster.. If you can still remember the Darmah?

The Darmah never broke down one me as such but threatened to on many occasions. I did a two week France/Switzerland/Italy run on it in 1981 swung by the factory in Bologna and got a tour of the place whilst they were making the 500 vertical twin. Never figured out why but the Darmah ran oddly on the trip, it would run on one cylinder below 30mph then next day it's run on the one cylinder above 30mph. No two days the same! Then as soon as we crossed the channel it ran perfect again

Thanks for posting those up Derek.
I can tell the Darmah is nice even in the lovely contemporary (wet) photo. I went to see a mate in about '82, as he said he was selling his Darmah, but by the time I got there he had changed his mind! I came away with nearly two Ajay 650s in boxes for £100 instead. There started an interesting chapter. Some years later I made a date to look at two 888s in bits about 40 miles away, but it was a nice day and I somehow managed not to get there. I often wonder how the story would have gone, had I bought them. Then I had a test ride on a 750GT in about '95, but it only had 3 gears and the seller was very grumpy.. So I had to wait until 2000 when I got my first Ducati. A '92 750ss with dry clutch.. About the same vintage as your very smart 900SS I think? Always thought it was a superb motorbike, except that it was so uncomfortable. I've got my second 750SS now, to see if I can make it into a REALLY nice motorbike which is comfortable too. Keep the pics coming..
