After seeing cylinder barrels from engines that had not been run in verses those that had, I decided to run the engine in 6K limit for 600 miles followed by 8K for a couple of hundred more, 6K was frustrating as the power starts to come on power about there, 8K was much better the power coming on strong from 6K you could ride it forever at the 8K limit such is the performance and speed. As a result of the lightened engine components and high compression pistons, the engine runs rough off of the throttle below 4K, it will hold a constant throttle perfect but judders if any appreciable increase in throttle is applied, the solution is to keep the engine in the power band which is not a problem given the back road scratching the bike is used for. Wind on the throttle and things start to happen, acceleration is blinding, full throttle gear changes will lift the front all the way to 5th. at one stage I thought I’d gone too far, in 5th and 6th 9-10K is VERY fast, but I have become more accustomed to the power delivery and think that’s is about right. The lower overall weight of the bike has considerably improved the handling, it flicks with ease and feels firmly planted, the brakes are amazing the precise control makes tire moaning applications routine What next? Well there is another 2-3kg in weight reduction albeit and expensive 2-3kg. An Nemisis ECU would improve the power and delivery. Engine. really good write up and fantastic pictures, love the bike, amazed at how much weight youve managed to lose. Love the fact that you done all that work and took it straight out on the track...

was having a shufty at some of the bikes .. wow.. what a stunning bike...
loving the bellypan .. I was planning on doing one of my bike tanks Grey Nurse style ..as I really love that planes looks.. its a very well executed bike... |
