Smile New rider

Hi all!

I am completely new to Monsters and riding in general. I passed my test last October and bought a 2009 696 from Ducati Glasgow with only 936 miles. I have since put a few more on and loved every minute.

I have added an evo tech tail tidy and some pazzo short levers but besides that its stock (until I have some spare cash).

I have 1 noob question for now, but many more to come I'm sure. My bike was last serviced in April 2012 at 793 miles, I bought it in August with 936 miles on and it now has 1300. Does it still need an annual service having covered so few miles in the last year?

Cheers,

Katie

How long have you had the monnie?
The amount of time taken to run up your mileage has a bearing on the service situation.
Where the belts changed at the last service? Ducati, I believe, recommend change the belts on your model every 3 yrs or 15k
I would change the belts, if they have not been already done at he last service, and change the engine oil.

Welcome to the club. Congrats on the bike test last year and the choice of the Monster. You may find you stick with Monsters for a long while now

Let us know if there's anything we can offer as advice or knowledge.

Hi Katie, and welcome. I agree with Grumpy. I have not riden much recently due to an off road fall, but still had belts changed etc due to age not miles.

Thanks all! Had a chat with a very helpful lady at Ducati Glasgow who recommended I book it in for a 'reduced service' as it had new belts last year. I will be taking it to Manchester though as its a bit far from Cheshire
